Elks Honor Seven & Raise $1920 for Fire Rescue and Law Enforcement Charities

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

St. Augustine Elks Lodge #829 held a Fire-Rescue and Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner-Dance at the lodge on Saturday, October 27, 2007. It was a celebration of the protection provided by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, St. Johns County Fire and Rescue, St. Augustine Police, St. Augustine Fire, St. Augustine Beach Police, and Troop G of the Florida Highway Patrol.

 

A “Person of the Year” was honored from each department.  The honorees each received a plaque, a congratulatory letter from US Senator Mel Martinez, and a check for $100. Each was selected for this recognition by their respective department.

 

The honorees were:

 

FHP, Troop G Trooper of the Year

Corporal Robert L. Asbill

 

St Augustine Beach Police Officer of the Year

Officer Frankie Hammonds

 

St Augustine Fire Dept. Firefighter of the Year

FF/EMT Robin Doucette

 

St Augustine Police Officer of the Year

Corporal Richard Warner

 

St Johns Fire Rescue Firefighter of the Year

FF/Paramedic Johnny Rigney

 

St Johns Fire-Rescue Paramedic of the Year

FF/Paramedic Jeff Wittmer

 

St Johns Sheriff's Office Deputy of the Year

Detective Lynda Mobley

 

The event with the help of community benefactors raised $1920 for the six department charities.
